Hello Everyone,
My name is Paul Sawka and I am 25 years old (you can learn more about me on the About Paul page). I work at the Canadian Down Syndrome Society office, I am the Awareness Leader. Getting this job was not easy but I had a lot of support. This support helped me learn the skills I needed to write my resume and get an interview. I really enjoy this job because it teaches me new things and gave me the opportunity to meet my nice co-workers.
As somebody with Down syndrome, I hope to use my job position to educate others about life with a disability. I also hope to speak out to all of my friends in the Down syndrome community about self-advocacy, and the ways they can help raise awareness about Down syndrome through their experiences. This blog was created to help me with these things and to report interesting stories from the Down syndrome community. I will also be blogging about what I am doing at my job. This blog will also be used to answer information requests so everyone can see the answers and learn more about Down syndrome. This blog will also give you advice about life with Down syndrome.
I filmed a video in my office about what I do at my job and I would like you to see it. I will be putting this video on my blog for you to see. I will also be posting other videos and photos on my blog. If you have any feedback or questions please send me a message using the contact form. Thank you for visiting my blog I hope all of you enjoyed it. I hope to hear from you soon!
