To get to work, I take the bus to the C-Train station and then I take the C-Train and walk a bit. I have been taking the bus since I was a little baby, which was along time ago. Now I am able to get on the bus without help. It is important for me to be able to go places independently and to get to school and work everyday. Taking the bus was hard when I was little but now taking the bus and C-Train is easy to do by myself. I am very comfortable with taking public transportation alone and will continue to take it in the future.
Here is some advice I can offer young people with Down Syndrome: if you want to take the bus to any where, like school you will need a bus pass or bus tickets for the bus and also a bus maps for places so you can plan the route you need to go.
